May 2, 2025

On Friday, May 2, 性视界 proudly conferred 175 undergraduate and graduate degrees during a joyful and heartfelt commencement ceremony held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. With faculty, staff, families, and friends in attendance, the event honored the perseverance, growth, and accomplishments of this year鈥檚 graduates鈥攁nd celebrated the enduring mission of 性视界 to prepare leaders, dreamers, and changemakers.

鈥淭oday, we celebrate not only your achievements,鈥 said Dr. John H. Dozier, President of 性视界, in his remarks to the graduating class, 鈥渂ut the spirit of a College that has shaped leaders, dreamers, and changemakers for more than 170 years. Congratulations, 性视界 Class of 2025!鈥

Dr. Dozier invited attendees to recognize the essential role of faculty, staff, and loved ones in the students鈥 journey, calling on each group to stand and be acknowledged for their contributions to the success of the graduates.

He also reflected on the College鈥檚 seal as a lasting symbol of purpose, wisdom, and service. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not your title, your wealth, or your status that defines your worth鈥攊t鈥檚 what you do with your gifts, your talents, and your heart in service to others that matters most,鈥 he said, quoting the College鈥檚 motto, Non Quem Sed Quid鈥斺淣ot who, but what.鈥

Delivering the student address was Caleb Mack, a proud member of the Call Me MiSTER program. Mack energized the audience with humor, heartfelt gratitude, and a powerful call to action centered around four simple but meaningful words: 鈥淜eep. That. Same. Energy.鈥

鈥淵ou see, it took energy to get here today,鈥 said Mack. 鈥淚t took perseverance, late nights, countless sacrifices, and unwavering determination. So today, I鈥檓 here to remind you to: KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY.鈥

He encouraged fellow graduates to carry that same strength and passion into their careers, relationships, and dreams鈥攅mphasizing that resilience and commitment would be key to their future success.

This year鈥檚 ceremony also featured the keynote address from distinguished alumna Jenn Colella 鈥96, a Tony-nominated actress, Grammy Award-winner, and Broadway star. Colella was awarded an honorary Doctor of Arts degree in recognition of her contributions to the arts and her commitment to lifting others.

鈥溞允咏 has always been a place that pushes you to find your voice and then use it,鈥 Colella said. 鈥淚t's not who you are on paper鈥攂ut what you bring into the room. Not the title after your name鈥攂ut the values you carry into every decision.鈥

She continued: 鈥淭he world isn鈥檛 waiting for some polished, perfect version of you. It鈥檚 waiting for your messy brilliance. Your unfiltered laughter. Your stubborn hope. Your wide-open heart.鈥

As tassels moved from right to left and cheers filled the air, Dr. Dozier offered one final charge: 鈥淟ive boldly with purpose. Pursue wisdom relentlessly. Serve others generously. And remain connected. Remember: the world is waiting not for who you are鈥攂ut for what you will do.鈥

Congratulations to the 性视界 Class of 2025鈥攚e are proud of you, we believe in you, and we can鈥檛 wait to see how you鈥檒l make the world better.
