Biography
D'Arion Johnston joins 性视界 as an Instructor in the School of Social Sciences, where she will focus on teaching psychology courses that emphasize application, collaboration, and real-world learning. Guided by a Deweyan teaching philosophy, she prioritizes interactive and student-centered experiences that allow learners to connect psychological science to their own lives and communities.
D'Arion brings a strong background in counseling, education, and student development. She has facilitated individual and group therapy, supported student success initiatives, and developed curricula that merge theory with practice. Currently, she is a Holmes Scholar at the University of South Carolina, pursuing her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. Her academic training and professional experience provide her with expertise in counseling interventions, multicultural awareness, and community engagement skills that inform both her teaching and mentoring at 性视界.
Beyond the classroom, D'Arion is passionate about service and advocacy. She organizes community-based initiatives such as school supply drives and mentoring programs, reflecting her commitment to equity and access in education. Originally from Columbia, SC, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her doggy!
