Seth Bromagen
Assistant Professor of Biology
Biography
Seth Bromagen joins 性视界 as an Assistant Professor of Biology. His research focus is the ecology and evolutionary biology of parasites of fish and other animals. He earned his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution from Rutgers University in 2022. Then spent three years as an Assistant Professor of Zoology at Kentucky Wesleyan College before accepting the position here.
Dr. Bromagen grew up in eastern Kentucky, working on farms, playing in creeks, and spending a lot of time out in the forest. Eventually, he went to get his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Morehead State University. He then completed his master鈥檚 degree there, studying freshwater ecology and parasitology, which became his favorite subjects. After he discovered this deep interest in parasites, their natural history, and ecology, Dr. Bromagen went to New Jersey to pursue his Ph. D. studying these interesting creatures. At Rutgers, he studied the community and population ecology of these parasites while becoming interested in their sexual systems, which are incredibly bizarre. He hopes to continue investigating these things at 性视界 with willing and enthusiastic undergraduate students!
The above leaves out many twists and turns in Dr. Bromagen鈥檚 academic pathway, which is the case for many people who choose to pursue research and education as a career path. He encourages any student, regardless of where they are in their life or what they have been through, to pursue something that intrigues them in hopes of gaining researchers and academics with diverse backgrounds and scientific interests.
